All purpose flour
500 g, plain(125 g for kneading, so it doesn’t stick to your counter top)
Yeast
7 g
300 ml, warm
Salt
2,5 g
Honey
5 ml
Extra virgin olive oil
50 ml
Sesame
250 g, seeds

Preparation

  • Preheat oven to 180°C.
  • In a large bowl, combine the flour, dry yeast, sea salt, honey and olive oil.
  • Knead to combine the ingredients.
  • Gradually add the water to make a dough.
  • Flour a clean work bench and knead the dough for 5 minutes.
  • Set the dough aside in a warm place for 30 minutes to proof.
  • Place the sesame seeds on a large plate or baking tray.
  • When the dough has doubled in size, divide it into 10 portions.
  • Roll each into thin sausage-like shapes about 40cm long.
  • Dip them in a tray filled with warm water.
  • Roll in the sesame seeds.
  • Press the ends firmly together to form a ring.
  • Place each one on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Serve warm or at room temperature.
