The list of the top 50 restaurants in the UK has been released by the Good Food guide for 2020, with news that L'Enclume restaurant in Cumbria is back on top after a two-year sojourn.
Two Michelin starred L’Enclume, located in the picturesque Lake District in the north of England, is not new to the spotlight having held the number one position in the guide for four consecutive years (2014-2017), narrowly missing out in the 2018 and 2019, when it remained at number two.
Celebrating news of his arrival back at the top chef/patron Simon Rogan was quick to congratulate his team, who are producing "extraordinary plates of food on a daily basis". “I couldn't be happier with the news that L’Enclume has returned to the No.1 spot in the Good Food Guide. It is a huge achievement which we have worked exceedingly hard towards, and I am very proud of my team who have made it possible.'

Alongside l'Enclume, Core by Clare Smyth in London and Restaurant Nathan Outlaw in Cornwall all received the top accolade of 10 points.
The Good Food Guide covers a wide variety of the best restaurants, pubs and cafés across the UK, and is completely rewritten and compiled from scratch each year using reader feedback and anonymous expert inspections.
