Chicken tikka is perhaps one of India's most well known dishes. Its origins are attributed to the northern part of the country where it is prepared in a clay oven called tandoor.
Although every home cook has their unique recipe for this specialty, we've stumbled upon two we think are simply sensational.
Sticklers for tradition will enjoy preparing the classic chicken tikka masala (pictured above) which features the whole chicken cut into parts and marinated overnight before baking.
A more updated version are these chicken tikka patties with yogurt and mint sauce (pictured above) - they make the perfect appetizer for a dinner party.
Regardless of the recipe you choose, both dishes are laced with fragrant Indian spices that will tempt your neighbors to swing by at dinner time.
