Dedicated beer drinkers know that details count. Temperature, selection of grain, yeasts and hops and the quality of water make a big difference in beer. Some like to think that even the glass the beer is served in affects its flavor.
German glass maker Spiegelau seems to think so and has collaborated with American craft breweries Dogfish Head and Sierra Nevada to produce the ultimate glass for Inida pale ales.
After several tastes test using ale glasses, the company settled on a special tappered glass with a wide mouth. Its design heightens the aroma of hops, allowing for an enhanced drinking experience.
The glass has thin walls which will help maintain proper beer temperature and a ridges that help aerate the beer. The design also allows for the enjoyment of IPAs' pleasant creaminess and sweetness.
The special IPA beer glass is set to be released in April and can be pre-ordered here.
