Following months of selections, the S.Pellegrino Young Chef 2018 competition ended with the Grand Finale held in Milan on the 12 and 13 May 2018.
During the two intense days of the final, the 21 young chef finalists cooked in groups of seven and presented their signatures dishes to a Grand Jury composed of seven of the world’s top chefs: Dominique Crenn, Margarita Forés, Virgilio Martinez, Ana Ros, Annie Feolde, Brett Graham and Paul Pairet.
The Winners
The title of S.Pellegrino Young Chef was won by the Japanese Yasuhiro Fujio, who received the award with his mentor Luca Fantin in front of the Seven Sages and an audience of food enthusiasts and chefs. The Japanese chef was also the winner of the Acqua Panna Taste of Authenticity Award, voted for by the 21 international chef mentors.
During the closing ceremony, another prestigious award was presented: the Fine Dining Lovers People's Choice Award, voted for online by members of the public, which went to Elizabeth Puquio Landeo representing South America.
