US agricultural cooperative Land O’Lakes has come up with a novel way to raise funds to help feed hungry families. Sign up to their Delete and Feed charity campaign and for every Instagram food picture you delete, they’ll donate 11 meals to Feeding America, a network of food banks.
All you have to do is link your Instagram account here. Then, when you delete a food picture, you’ll receive a badge to encourage others to do the same.
The charity campaign has a goal of 2.75 million meals and currently stands at just over 40,000 according to Refinery 29. It will come to an end around mid–October.
With one in seven people in the US struggling with hunger according to Feed America, now is the time, if anything, to be even more active with your food photography.
Snap away, but just remember to sign up to Delete and Feed. Plus next time someone rolls their eyes as you reach for your phone before your fork, you’ll have the perfect retort.
