Zagat have turned our attention to some of the lesser known spots in the U.S. with a list of some of the next hot food cities we can expect to emerge in the country.
They surveyed a number of industry insiders to create the list which promises to highlight some of the most exciting food locations for food lovers.
Each of the cities were picked for scoring well across nine criteria: is it home to exceptional chefs; do people dine out often there; does it attract young chefs starting their careers; are there diverse cultures inspiring varied cuisines; do they have fresh local ingredients that are highly accessible; is it recognised by national media or industry groups; is it a source for dining and cuisine innovation; is there frequent industry coverage by local media; do their local restaurant trends have a national influence.
It’s an interesting idea to try and curate the hottest rising cities and from the selection it seems the team have done a sterling job.
