As part of its new spring menu, Mugaritz is serving an incredibly tempting dish: chocolate-covered sins. The dessert is among 50 new dishes that will be offered at the restaurant this year.
The seven deadly sins are represented by seven chocolate bonbons served in stacked wooden bowls resembling the legendary Tower of Babel. Each serving is concealed under a wooden lid which, once removed, displays lustful bites of chocolate.
The bonbons are made by acclaimed Catalan pastry chef Oriol Balaguer while the stunning oak bowls were designed by GR Industrial Design. Here's a pic posted on the restaurant's Instagram:
Cef Andoni Luis Aduriz says he wanted to offer diners a playful ending to their meal, one where lust is intermingled with fun. ''Chocolate nourishes the body and spirit. Bitter or sweet, black or white, it's an ancient food...responsible for producing happiness and excitement in humans,'' he explained in the restaurant's blog.
Mugaritz ranks third on the World's 50 Best Restaurants list, which is sponsored by S.Pellegrino and Acqua Panna. Watch the 2013 World's 50 Best Restaurant awards live on FDL on April 29th. Book your seat for the live stream now!
