Has mediocre food prevented you from enjoying a blissful cruise? Then Mario Batali and the Bastianich family are here to help you.
Together, they are expanding their Italian gourmet shop Eataly to cruise ships. That's right, now you'll be able to enjoy fine dining Italian cuisine while sailing the high seas. Aside from eating at the 80-seat restaurant aboard the MSC Preziosa, you'll also be able to shop for gourmet products at the Eataly shop aboard the cruise.
Although the Eataly restaurant at sea will feature 18 dishes from the shop, Batali is not involved in the menu planning. Instead, the menu will be arranged by a team of Italian chefs which include Enrico Panera from Restaurant Marin Eataly in Genoa (home of pesto) and Michelin-starred talent Moreno Cedroni.
If you love shopping for aged balsamic vinegar and high-quality olive oils at Eataly, then this might be the cruise of your dreams. The MSC Preziosa is scheduled to make her maiden voyage to the Mediterranean in March.
