Check out these truly beautifully crafted knives from The Federal - a team of designers who wanted to try and change the image of the everyday kitchen knife.
The knife's bodies and blades are encased in Maple Wood with their high polished blades becoming the focus of the design. All the wood has been food sealed to protect it from everyday wear and tear. The designers also promise that the knives have been expertly weighted to provide a good balance for any level of chef.
Unfortunately the one's displayed on the company's websites are still a prototype but there's something uniquely pleasing about these wonderful objects.
