What would you do if you came home from work hungry and opened the fridge only to find a cabbage and some eggs, upon further inspection of the kitchen cupboard you find some rice and black pepper - the question is, what do you make?
This is exactly the problem we presented to some of the best chefs in the world when we gave them the 'FDL Bare Fridge Challenge' - a game that sees every chef conjure up their own unique dishes from the same four ingredients.
So far we've had René Redzepi and the British chef Heston Blumenthal take the challenge and this week we head to America to see what Thomas Keller., owner of the French Laundry and Per Se, cooks for The Bare Fridge Challenge.
Chef Keller starts with the egg, saying it's his favorite food, and goes on to poach and place it on top of the rest of the ingredients. Simple and textured - a trademark of his food.
