Animated Plates with Augmented Reality

Andrew Tanner is one of the most promising talents from the world of English ceramics, able to combine tradition and innovation in an extraordinary show of design.

His most recent work the English Hedgerow project, where the plates’ graphics get animated by an iOS application (iPhone, iPad) created by the Unanico Group, which provides a real-life experience. The result is rather astonishing: a world were flora and fauna come to life and move on your plates. Imagine a butterfly fluttering here and there, a buzzing fly, a caterpillar and the kinds of flowers typical of an English garden. Just setting the table feels like being Alice in Wonderland. Must be tried to be believed.
