Danilo Cortellini
Danilo Cortellini
Cortellini is the head chef at the Italian Embassy in London, and founder of Tiramisoo Events, a London-based catering and events company with an Italian soul.
Originally from Abruzzo, in central Italy, the chef grew up in a family where food was central, from growing their own produce to baking and sharing home-cooked food around a family table. As a young chef, he travelled throughout Italy gaining professional experience at two Michelin-starred restaurants – San Domenico in Imola and Perbellini near Verona. In 2010, he moved to London where he entered kitchens such as Restaurant Dolada in Mayfair, three-Michelin-starred Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester, and Knightsbridge’s Michelin-starred Zafferano, before taking up his current role.
He has also appeared on various British TV series, including as a finalist on the BBC's MasterChef: The Professionals, and on Saturday Kitchen, sharing his enthusiasm for genuine Italian flavours and techniques with home cooks.
Most recently, Cortellini opened Tiramisoo Events, a catering and events company, as well as setting up a food, drink and restaurant consultancy service. In 2016, he also published his first cookbook, 4 Grosvenor Square: The menu of the Italian Embassy in London, in English and Italian.
