Prestigious culinary arts and hospitality institute Le Cordon Bleu is set to open its French gastro-hub in London next month, including its first fine-dining restaurant, following a delay caused by the pandemic.
Located on Fleet Street, and with interiors inspired by 17th-century Paris, the site will host CORD by Le Cordon Bleu restaurant and CORD café as well as short culinary courses.
The café, open for breakfast and lunch, will specialise in French patisserie and viennoiseries baked on site. Think croissants, peach and raspberry tarts, apricot brioche crumble and more. There will also be a light snack menu including gourmet sandwiches, salads, soups and artisan breads.
The 90-cover blue and white-themed CORD restaurant will open from Monday to Friday, and offer a daily a la carte menu, a weekly-changing set lunch, and a variety of tasting menus at dinner.
Highlights include:
Handpicked crab meat, cucumber, rhubarb & radish marmalade with herb toast, brown crab dressing and watercress oil.
Warm steamed Muscavado sponge, spiced cherries, fig leaf ice cream and green pistachio.
Candied ginger panna cotta with rhubarb and rose meringue, served with strawberries and mint, shiso espuma and buttermilk sorbet.

Le Cordon Bleu’s London institute will also offer short courses led by master chefs specialising in food and wine pairing, worldwide cuisine and patisserie.
