Ahead of the unveiling of the World’s 50 Best Restaurants list, sponsored by S.Pellegrino and Acqua Panna, which will take place in Antwerp, Belgium, on 5 October, the rankings of the best of the rest – places 51-100 – has been released.
As the restaurant world begins to get back on its feet after an incredibly challenging 18-month period, the awards too are hitting their stride once more, and the World’s 50 Best Restaurants is back ranking the world’s top restaurants. According to tradition, restaurants that didn’t quite make the top 50 – those numbered 51-100 – are compiled in a list prior to the main ceremony.

As usual, the ranking will provoke much debate, especially in an industry so changed by the pandemic, with the list featuring some of the world’s most renowned restaurants and establishments, which formerly ranked among the top 50.
Grant Achatz’s Alinea makes an appearance at 70, while Dinner by Heston Blumenthal comes in at 65. Relatively new and highly acclaimed restaurants, Core by Clare Smyth, and Alchemist by Rasmus Munk, are placed at 64 and 58 respectively. Alchemist is the highest new entry, while other new entries include Sazenka and L’Effervescence in Tokyo, as well as Kjolle and Mil in Peru, and Fyn in Cape Town, South Africa, among others.
