Stanley Tucci's Searching for Italy is Back for Season Three

Journalist

The new series of Searching for Italy - the hit CNN food and travel series hosted by the inimitable US actor and food obsessive Stanley Tucci - will premiere on Sunday 9 October at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

The four episodes in season three will see Tucci navigate the diverse Italian regions of Puglia, Sardinia, Liguria and Calabria, with food as his compass. Each region offers its own unique culinary landscape, so we can expect plenty more memorable moments from our convivial host this series.

From sun-soaked southern Puglia's traditional orecchiette pasta, and the picturesque island of Sardinia with its roasted suckling piglet; to Calabria's fiery 'nduja, and Liguria's vibrant pesto, we are sure not to go hungry for Italian culinary inspiration this season.

We caught up with Stanley Tucci to find out more about his life lived through food. Have a listen.

In the first season, Tucci covered Italy's favourite holiday destinations and world-renowned foodie hotspots, like Emilia Romagna, Milan, Tuscany, Sicily, Rome, Naples and the Amalfi Coast, where he indulged in all the local delicacies, from pizzocheri to pasta alla norma, meeting fellow food obsessives, chefs and producers along the way.

In the second season, Tucci travelled to Venice to try chichetti and meet up with old friends, before heading to Piedmont in the north, Umbria in the middle, and back to London.

Will there be a season four? Abruzzo, Basilicata, Marche, Molise, Trentino Alto Adige are just a few of the remaining regions left to be explored by Tucci, so watch this space.
