We received an email at our Fine Dining Lovers newsroom with the mysterious title ‘Round egg’. As there had been some phishing warnings flying around the office in recent weeks, we were reluctant to click on it, but curiosity won out and we read the message.
Imagine our surprise when we read that the sender had found a perfectly round egg and wondered if we would be interested in writing an article about round eggs. We caught each other’s eyes and knew this was something special.
Experts say that the chances of finding a perfectly round egg are one in a billion and with 1250 billion eggs produced annually there are found from time to time. However, it is rare that a round egg makes it to market and only a few are ever sold. When they are, they usually fetch hundreds of dollars.
The perfectly round egg is on sale on eBay with a minimum bid of $30 dollars and a price of $100.
