The Michelin Guide has announced its 2022 star revelation for Italy in what is a record-breaking year for the country.

The stars were announced at a live-streamed ceremony with chefs in attendance, with a total of 329 restaurants receiving one star - 33 of them for the first time - and two additions to the two-star ranks, bringing the total to 38. All 11 three-Michelin-star restaurants kept their status at the top of the culinary tree, with none losing their stars this year. Some 30 restaurants were awarded the Michelin Green Star this year, with an incredible 17 new additions. Over half of the chefs awarded Michelin stars this year are under 35 years of age, which means the future of Italian gastronomy is in good hands.
