50 Top Pizza Europe 2022: See the Full List

Peppe Pizzeria in Paris, by Peppe Cutraro, has been named the best pizzeria in Europe by 50 Top Pizza Europe 2022 for a second consecutive year, during an official awards ceremony held by 50 Top Pizza in Milan on 12 May.

Fratelli Figurato, owned by Riccardo and Vittorio Figurato in Madrid, came in second place, while the third spot on the podium went to 50 Kalò London, the UK pizzeria owned by Neapolitan pizza chef Ciro Salvo, who also won the special award Made in Italy 2022 – Mammafiore Award.

In fourth place was the Danish pizzeria Bæst, in Copenhagen, which also won two special awards: Best Service 2022 – Goeldlin Award, and Innovation and Sustainability 2022 – Ferrarelle Award.

A total of 21 European countries were represented at the event, with the UK and Spain faring best, with five venues listed each, and Spain boasting three pizzerias in the top ten. France, Denmark, Germany and Belgium had four pizzerias each in the ranking. As for the cities with the most venues in the guide, London had five while Copenhagen had four.

Sartoria Panatieri by Rafa Panatieri and Jorge Sastre (in fifth position) in Barcelona, also won the special 'Pizza of the Year 2022' award for its pizza topped with Cantabrian anchovies, tomato, escarole and kalama olive puree. See all the other special award winners listed below.

The first 25 positions in the 2022 European ranking also earn the right to be included in the 100 Best pizzerias in the world, which will be presented in Naples on 7 September at the Palazzo Reale. 

Ahead of that, the 2022 USA guide, will be revealed on 14 June at La Devozione in Chelsea Market, New York.
