Satwant Singh 'Sat' Bains is one of the UK’s best-known chefs, and is the chef-owner of two-Michelin-star restaurant Sat Bains with Rooms in Nottingham. Born in Derby to Sikh parents, he started cooking from an early age and credits Marco Pierre White’s autobiography White Heat as inspiration. Sat won the Roux Scholarship in 1999 and worked in some of the best restaurants in London, and for a time in France, before returning to England and opening his own restaurant in Nottingham.
Known for his culinary talent and his no-nonsense approach to gastronomy, and his sense of humour, Sat Bains is a well-known figure both at home in the UK and abroad, appearing on television and in the media often.
