#ZeroWaste Dinner Series
A new fine-dining series dedicated to raising awareness about food waste will be spearheaded by some of Romania's greatest chefs in a number of collaborative dinners, from September to November. Find out more.
Top Romanian chefs will be flexing their creative muscles as part of in an innovative #ZeroWaste dinner series, organised by Gastronom Association, to help raise awareness about food waste in original and delicious ways.
Eight local celebrity chefs, including Oana Coantă from Bistro de’l Arte in Brașov, will collaborate in a number of four-hand dinners at their respective restaurants throughout the country, showcasing a menu made for the occasion, from 2 September until 10 November. Some of the dishes may even remain on the restaurants' menus.
“At the end of it all we want to show that #ZeroWaste is not just a CSR message. It can be innovative, creative and bring up some really nice ideas for the future of gastronomy,“ said event organiser Gabriel Gavrilescu, food journalist and co-founder of Gastronom Association.
The dinners form part of a bigger campaign to encourage diners to think differently about food waste. It includes a step-by-step video guide for reducing home waste, workshops and #ZeroWaste recipes for home cooking, and dedicated dishes in top restaurants' menus, all featuring the best chefs, producers and artisans.

- 2 September – Plai, Sibiu – Petra Hianu and Alexandru Dumitru
- 23 September – Bistro de l’Arte, Brasov - Oana Coantă and Andrei Chelaru
- 29 October – Baracca, Cluj, Roland Suciu and Alex Petricean
- 10 November – L’Atelier, Relais and Chateaux Epoque Hotel, Bogdan Alexandrescu and Mihai Toader
