The Connaught Bar in London has been named 'Best Bar in the World' for the second consecutive year at The World's 50 Best Bars 2021 event in London.
Famous for its tableside dry Martini service, the bar is described as “the quintessential London hotel bar” one for which “excellence has become a bare minimum standard”. But one that “in its poise, elegance and the leadership of Agostino Perrone, Giorgio Bargiani and Maura Milia, has a distinct Italian accent.”
Housed in the historic Connaught hotel in Mayfair, the bar also picked up the title of Best Bar in Europe at what was a return to live action for The World’s 50 Best Bars following a virtual event in 2020.
It was a one-two for London on the night, with Tayēr + Elementary taking second place. Paradiso in Barcelona came third, and Athens’ The Clumsies fourth. Florería Atlántico in Buenos Aires, also Best Bar in South America, props up the top five.
