Finding Gastón is a colorful documentary depicting the numerous accomplishments of Peruvian chef Gastón Acurio. The documentary follows Acurio around the world as he promotes his country's cuisine with an entourage of nine other chefs.
This particular clip features Acurio in Spain and Sweden. You'll seet him teach cooking demos in Girona and rub elbows in the kitchen with brothers Jordi and Joan Roca at their famed restaurant El Celler de Can Roca. The chef and his gang also take the stage in Stockholm where he won the Global Gastronomy award.
The documentary is produced and directed by Patricia Perez. You'll note the music in the clip is absolutely infectuous. In case you're curious, the song is called Candela and is performed by Nova Lima, a collective of Peruvian artists living across the globe.
Acurio also appeared in a previous documentary called Perú Sabe: Cuisine as an Agent for Social Change, which also features Ferran Adrià.
His restaurant Astrid & Gastón ranks 35th on the World's 50 Best Restaurants list, which is sponsored by S.Pellegrino and Acqua Panna. This year's awards will be held on April 29th in London. Watch the 2013 World's 50 Best Restaurants awards live on FDL - book your seat now!
