In our Michelin chefs cook series we’ve watched the world’s best chefs tackle the finest ingredients and dishes, from lobster to beef, carbonara to roast chicken.
The latest instalment focuses on cake, because, well everyone loves cake, don’t they? Including Michelin-starred chefs. Having said that, these aren’t your average sponges or cheesecakes.
First up it’s Phil Howard, formerly of London’s The Square and now Elystan Street, with his coffee-infused cheesecake.
Next is Heston Blumenthal, with a two-part guide to how to make a classic Black Forest Gateau – unlike any you may have seen before.
Here’s Gordon Ramsay with a simple recipe for homemade New York-style (i.e. baked) cheesecake with lemon and raspberries.
Moving away from Michelin – simply because Australia doesn’t have the Michelin Guide – here’s Peter Gilmore of Sydney’s Quay restaurant explaining his outrageously decadent chocolate cake. Watch through to the end to see a neat trick.
And finally, its ChefSteps, with their recipe for the ultimate chocolate cake.
