Would you like to enjoy an aquatic dining experience while keeping your feet on the ground? Head on over to the Prahran Hotel in Melbourne, Austrailia.
That's where you'll find a unique restaurant built from giant water pipes. It is a stunning look designed by architect Justin Northrop, who wanted to create a dramatic effect using 17 1/2 giant water pipes.
A collaboration between Techné Architects and hotel group Sand Hill Road, this unique restaurant stretches out over three different levels, offering a different experience to guests depending on where they are seated.
The restaurant's interior features warm lighting and plush leather seating, benches that seat up to 12 people and a floating VIP area. The ground floor is covered in funky textured tiles that give way to a lighted courtyard.
Northrop told The Cool Hunter the design is truly about enhancing conviviality. ''It's providing people with opportunities to interact in non-standard ways, a whole variety of seating and gathering.”
