Patrick Dempsey Buys Tully's Coffee

The actor Patrick Dempsey has outbid Starbucks to buy the Seattle based Tully's coffee chain for over $9 million. Regarding a bid by Dempsey's investor group Global Baristas the actor said in a tweet that he had met the green monster, "looked her straight in the eye and she blinked!" He added "we got it" and went on to thank Seattle.

Although the final decision on the deal will be made by the bankruptcy courts on the 11th January, the actor seemed confident and said he will take an active role in building the company with a strong focus on customer service and quality control.

Dempsey is best know for his role as Dr. Derek Shepherd in the hospital based television series Grey's Anatomy.
