Michelin Guide France 2022 was revealed at a live awards ceremony in Cognac this afernoon with big news of two new three-star restaurants, six new two-star restaurants and 41 new 1-star restaurants joining the new guide.
The star-studded event signalled a return of French gastronomy showing its capacity for resilience and creative impetus, as chefs, media and industry professionals were able to assemble and celebrate once again. “While the two-year pandemic has severely impacted the restaurant sector, with mid- and long-term effects that are still difficult to gauge, France’s restaurant owners have worked hard all year to impress us," said Gwendal Poullennec.
Three Michelin Stars
Villa Madie in Cassis joined the highest ranking of three-Michelin-stars with dedicated duo Dimitri and Marielle Droisneau both living and working at the restaurant nestled at the foot of Cap Canaille where they have become known for signature dishes like carabineros shrimp on a red berry tartlet, and rabbit and jumbo shrimp fricassee with early apricots.
