This, the 10th edition of the awards, which recognises the best 50 restaurants in Latin America, is the first to take place in Brazil and will feature, not only the live award ceremony where the countdown from 50 – 1 will take place on stage, but a week-long schedule of dinners and the organisation’s 50 Best Talks, featuring major names in gastronomy for inspiring talks and discussions.
A series of special awards have already been announced in anticipation, namely, the One to Watch, Icon Award and Latin America’s Best Female Chef.
The current holder of the number one spot on Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants list is Central, in Lima, Peru, chefs Virgilio Martínez and Pía León’s flagship restaurant.
