Hungry? How About Some Scorpion Pizza?

If you are icky about having anchovies on your pizza, you may want to pass on scorpion pizza. However, adventurous eaters might enjoy the extra crunch and a little je ne sais quoi scorpions have to offer an ordinary tomato pie.

While scorpion pizza may not be on the menu at your local pizzeria it will be available at the upcoming Calgary Stampede 2014 where visitors can also be tempted by delicacies like crocodile sliders and deep-fried donut bacon burgers. 

Scorpions on pizza may sound pretty unconventional but it's really just the tip of the iceberg as more and more people are turning to edible insects as a sustainable source of protein.
