Maybe you won’t be going home this year, maybe your apartment doesn’t have a stove, maybe you just can’t stand the thought of the hassle and stress. In this case, why not celebrate fall’s bounty and let someone else do the dishes? FDL has compiled a list of restaurants in five American cities, serving special Thanksgiving menus.
MAIALINO - NEW YORK
2 Lexington Ave
New York, NY 10010
Website
Whether you’re an Italian tourist that just happens to be in N.Y. for Turkey Day, or a local city dweller, whose tiny apartment isn’t big enough for a giant bird, Maialino offers both its classic prix fixe menu, as well as an Italian American Thanksgiving meal, featuring squash agnolotti, Heritage turkey with polenta and kale and a sumptuous pumpkin custard. At time of printing there were only a few tables left.
The Price: $89
LM RESTAURANT - CHICAGO
4538 N Lincoln Ave
Chicago, IL 60625
Tel. +1 (773) 942-7585, Website
Owned and operated by a husband and wife team, LM (named after their childen, Luc and Mary) will give you a cozy, familiar Thanksgiving without any dishes to do. Along with their traditional menu, Lincoln Square's French gastro bistro will be serving a $45 four-course prix fixe menu from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Dishes will include chestnut soup, seared scallops with leek confit, slow-cooked turkey breast with sweet potato gratin and pumpkin tart.
103 WEST - ATLANTA
103 West Paces Ferry RD NW
Atlanta, GA 30305
Tel. +1 (404) 233-5993, Website
Not a “traditional” restaurant, 103 West is actually a “private dining destination”. Which means that here, you can re-create the large table experience without hosting it. For parties of four or more, the private space is offering the full Thanksgiving experience complete with your table’s own turkey from Noon until 7p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. The restaurant will also refresh your sides so you can take the whole feast home and have leftovers: that’s right, you can still enjoy a turkey sandwich the next day.
The cost is $69/adult and $35/child. Kids under 6 eat free. Reservations required.
ONE MARKET RESTAURANT - SAN FRANCISCO
1 Market St
San Francisco, CA 94105
Tel. +1 (415) 777-5577, Website
This year, Michelin-strarred One Market offers a special Thanksgiving menu featuring Roasted Willy Bird Turkey, Cornbread Sausage Stuffing and Sugar Pie Pumpkin steamed pudding. Since this is one of the City’s most popular restaurants, we urge you to reservations. Then you can take a nice long walk along the bay to help you digest. Dinner is $62/person, and kids get a cheaper rate.
THE CARILLON - AUSTIN
1900 University Ave
Austin, TX 78705
Tel. +1 (512) 404-3655, Website
Familiar food with a sophisticated twist is what The Carillon promises, and for Thanksgiving Chef Josh Watkins' Thanksgiving brunch (it ends at 3pm, you could even eat dinner later) will set you back $55, but it also includes buttermilk-marinated turkey breast, smoked chanterelle polenta, omelet station and … a champagne and bloody mary bar. Open 10:00AM to 3:00PM. Reservations recommended.
