By Rose Y.Colón on
Finally, the upcoming television show to be hosted by Nigella Lawson and Anthony Bourdain has a name: The Taste. ABC network has announced it picked up eight episodes of The Taste, which will pit homecooks against professional chefs in a reality cooking competition.
The contenstants will face two challenges in each episode, an individual one and as a team. Their food will be judged by culinary mentors based on taste alone - which opens to door to the speculation of blind tastings. So far, the mentors and the premiere date have not been announced.
According to a press release from Red Arrow Entertainment Group, Anthony Bourdain and Nigella Lawson will ''head a distinct panel of four judges'' on the competition show. But it is unclear if they will be among the judges or just host the show. The Taste is Anthony Bourdain's latest venture after announcing he was leaving the Travel Channel to join CNN.
