Master Sommelier Andreas Larsson gives FDL some helpful hints to get through a wine tasting without embarrassing yourself.

1. Don’t say too much at the beginning.
2. For white wines, you can talk about its floral or mineral character.
3. For red wines, you can talk about red fruits. Remember to express yourself with elegance.
4. Take your time while tasting, and if you don’t know what to say, don’t say good: say interesting.
5. Don’t forget to compliment your host.
