Sometimes you just want to bite into something decadent, creamy and sinful. Enter the Mississippi mud pie, a chocolately dessert loved by Americans.
Mississippi mud pie was named so for its resemblance to the banks of the Mississippi River, which runs through the center of the United States. It was initally associated with the country's Southern states after World War II but it is now considered an American classic comfort food.
Many versions of this easy-to-make dessert exists but this Mississippi mud pie recipe centers on a chocolate crust and a filling of coffee ice cream topped with lots of chocolate. The recipe appeared on hit American television program Brothers & Sisters.
