Remember that guy who delivered pizza to Ellen DeGeneres when she hosted the Oscars? Well, he’s put his 15 minutes of fame to good use and opened his very own pizzeria.
The “pizza guy” is actually Edgar Martirosyan, who wasn’t just a delivery guy but also co-franchisee of Big Mama’s & Papa’s on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood. Now, he and his brother Erik have finally opened the Neapolitan-style pizza joint they always dreamed of, the Los Angeles Times reports.
Called Wood, Martirosyan's pizzeria dishes out handcrafted Old World-style pizza “using local, organic and in-season ingredients within a warm, pleasant and trendy atmosphere,” according to the company website.
The brothers reportedly researched every aspect of pizza making and wanted to produce only authentic Italian pizza. ”We even have a mixer from Italy for the dough we make daily," Erik says. "We wanted the right ingredients, the right products -- all shipped from Italy," he told the LA Times.
Well, it seems like dreams really do come true for some….you can expect the based-on-a-true-story Hollywood epic any day now.
